Happy Autumn Everyone!
We’ve been busy doing, doing, doing! Scroll down for a little window into our days. It was fun to see everyone at the pumpkin patch last Friday. A special thank you to Karen and Matt for sharing their chicks with us and for the new boat that is so well loved. A couple of moms have stayed the last few mornings for circle time. I would like to formally invite all parents to join us for outside circle time, the first hour of our day. It is quite wonderful to see the little brothers and sisters joining in the fun too. Here is a little song we’re singing right now.
“Jack-o-lantern, jack-o-lantern you are such a lovely sight
As you sit there in my window looking out at the night.
You were once a yellow pumpkin growing on a sturdy vine,
Now you are my jack-o-lantern, let your little light shine.”
And of course don’t forget…
“Peter Peter pumpkin eater had a wife and couldn’t keep her,
He put her in a pumpkin shell and there he kept her very well.”
You’ve got to love the absurdity of this one! I love nursery rhymes. Sometimes I wish I had a pumpkin shell to go into and I think it is quite a creative solution. And here is one more Halloween finger game.
“Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate,
The first one says, my it’s getting late.
The second one says, there are witches in the air.
The third one says, I don’t care.
The fourth one says, let’s run let’s hide.
The fifth one says, it’s Halloween time.
Then swish goes the wind and out goes the light, and the five little pumpkins rolled out of sight.”
